The Second Quest And The First Scoreboard
Basketball is fast paced and quite confusing if you're not confident of your knowledge of the rules. We had our first game today and I am quite impressed. See, we haven't worked out offensive plays just yet, only zone defense and presses and picks. So for an all defensive team, we played really well. Goooo T-R-A-F!
My father attended the basketball game if you believe it or not. He came early and watched the whole entire thing, even though it's not that long. Afterwards, he gave me a lift even. He stayed through a whole basketball game and even gave me a lift. It's amazing. He's not bad sometimes, my dad. He may ask a lot of questions, he may be incredibly un-cool, but he's not bad my dad.
We're doing something decently interesting in english class this second term. Did you know that there are seven hundred versions of Cinderella in existence? Seven hundred versions! That's quite a bit. That's a monstrous amount actually. I'm wondering how there could be seven hundred recreations of one tale. I find it incredible. It also makes you wonder which is the true tale, if there even is one. My personal favourites are the movie version Ever After, the book version Ella Enchanted and the Disney version Cinderella. I think those are the best out of the ones I have read/watched/heard.
My mother went to a make-up artist this weekend and I have to say that the new make-up looks really good on her. She needed an change and it's a really nice one. Not that I didn't like how she did her make-up before, it was perfectly fine, but change is always good. It must be so much fun to be a make-up artist. You get to play dress-up in a sense. You get to turn someone into a beautiful woman, and ugly monster, an old man or even an alien in some cases. It would be a pretty interesting job to have.
When I spoke to Liat yesterday, she told me that her and another girl Sarah were looking into jobs. It made me think about what I wanted to be. I'm not sure. My mother says that I should be a lawyer or at least get my law degree before I do anything else, but I'm not sure if that's what I want to do. It sounds interesting and challenging and all, but I also like to dance and sing and act and draw and play flute. So I was thinking. I could take courses to recieve my degree in law and then possibly, I could take something in the arts and do both. Maybe. I really don't know yet. I should think about it though. Try and put my finger on what direction I want to travel in.
Geography is a pathetic, no good, annoying, stupid subject. I can't stand it. I can't listen, I can't concentrate, I can't do anything in that class! The teacher speak monotonously and the material is useless. Nobody in my class is planning on being a miner when they look for jobs, so why the hell do we need to learn about them? Who cared about the income we get for producing Uranium! I don't! Noone else does! We really need a better curriculum or something, of I may have to pay for my Westcoast trip because of a stupid subject!
