Have you ever wondered if such magical, fairy tale things exist? I wonder that. I wonder it all the time.A few days ago I walking on Monkland after dropping off something at the Westcoast office. On Monkland ave. there is an irish pub called 'Ye Olde Orchard'. As I took my stroll down this street, looking for where my mother had parked the car, a short woman emerged from this bar. She seemed to be in quite a hurry as she dashed passed me. After she was halfway down the street, a young man emerged from the pub. Yelling after her, "Why aren't you staying for a drink?" I didn't entirely catch the woman's name. The man was Canadian of course, I could tell my his accent. The woman, who had turned around and was walking backwards. "I'm sorry, maybe some other time!" She called back to the young man. My ears perked as I heard her thick irish accent. I watched as she turned back around and headed down the street. That's when I noticed her ears. I was too far away to get a really good look at them, but I did notice they were slightly on the pointed side. To the point where I was so entranced, I didn't notice my mother drive her car up.
Now this got me thinking. Maybe it was just coincidence that this small woman happened to have pointy ears and a thick irish accent. Or maybe ... I just saw a leprauchaun.
There is no proof that these fair folk are non-existent and there is no proof that they do exist. So what do you believe? Can you catch the leprauchaun and recieve the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Or are you going to stay in touch with that bowl of Lucky Charms sitting in front of you and be blinded by commercials with flying marshmallows?
For the record, yesterday was Mike and myself's one month anniversary. We were supposed to go see a movie, but he's grounded because his mother doesn't think he's the best. I miss him.
